Big Sky Brewing Company is pleased to announce its summer concert series being held at the brewery. This year’s headliners include: Barenaked Ladies, Widespread Panic, Cake, Slightly Stoopid, The Infamous Stringdusters, Kip Moore and The Good Vibes Summer Tour. The brewery’s sales and events coordinator, Trinda Rieck, stated:  “we like to bring great music to our beer drinkers, but we also use these shows as a means to raise money for causes we support.” Big Sky Brewing Company’s Concert giving has exceeded $180,000 since it’s inception.

For the second consecutive year, I Ride for Tanner (Tanner Olson Memorial) and Youth Homes are recipients of the 2013 concert proceeds. Both organizations received the brewer’s good will in 2012 and have continued these relationship into 2013 to complete ongoing projects.

“Working with the brewery has been outstanding and we’re excited to continue this partnership,” commented Youth Homes, development director Ramey Kodadek. “With these proceeds we will rebuild our Tom Roy Youth Guidance Home. This is the only youth home of its kind in state, and plays a critical role in transition for our oldest youth.”

I Ride for Tanner is raising money to develop a BMX Park in honor of Tanner Olson, an avid BMX enthusiast who passed away at the age of 14 in an auto accident. “Big Sky Brewing has single-handedly allowed us to raise the money needed for the BMX park,” commented Executive Director, Kathy Jackson.  “We’re building a park for kids today and future generations. We can’t believe the support we’ve received from the Brewery and the larger Missoula Community.”

Considered Montana’s largest outdoor amphitheater, the brewery’s music venue ranked in the top 100 outdoor amphitheaters according to a 2011 Pollstar report of worldwide ticket sales. Trinda Rieck stated: “we initially held concerts because we thought it would be fun, we’re glad the community has embraced it as a venue for Beer, Music and for Giving.”

Previous charitable recipients have included the Glacier Ice Rink, Missoula Skate Park Association, and Missoula Whitewater Association  The Glacier Ice Rink applied $30,000 received from the concerts in 2010  to build new locker rooms.  Brennan’s Wave received over $60,000 for the original construction of Missoula’s iconic Brennan’s Wave.  Missoula Skate Park also received $60,000 to help build Mobash Skate Park, located in McCormick Park.

Big Sky Brewing  Company Committed just over $99,500 to various Missoula Non-Profits in 2012 and intends to exceed this total this year.  The company has aligned its annual BBQ festival, to support the Montana Food Bank, with the Missoula XC Mountain Bike Race held at at Marshal Mountain on June 22nd.
